Welcome to Seville.
As Mayor of Seville, I should like to thank the Royal Spanish German Shepherd Club and the Organising Committee of the 2010 Championships for choosing the city. The work done by the City Delegate for Innovation and the support we have received from Deporte Andaluz, the public sports promotion body, have also been outstanding.
We know that many other Spanish cities in the different regions applied for the organisation of this event, but Seville was chosen for several objective reasons: its organisational capacity, the infrastructure, the hotel beds available in the city, its communications and accessibility, as well as the number of members.
We are proud that Seville has been entrusted with this great event, the type of event that generates high expectations among visitors who are used to travel the world and who demand, therefore, the highest possible quality in the services of the host city.
I am sure that all true enthusiasts of the German shepherd will enjoy the facilities at the Olympic Stadium, where the competition is to be held, in October 2010. And we, the people of Seville, are delighted to welcome you.
Take advantage of this opportunity to enjoy all that the city has to offer, its culture, traditions, cuisine and the pleasure of strolling through our streets.
Alfredo Sánchez Monteseirín
